Millions of Volunteers cleaning, beautifying and improving The Quality Of Life In Communities Across America Every March 1 through May 31.
Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup™ (GAC) is the nation's largest community improvement program, built on a foundation of individual responsibility and civic pride.
In 2006, the program mobilized over 2 million volunteers in 15,000 plus communities from coast to coast in a total of over 30,000 community improvement events, targeting areas of greatest need and got the job done! Great American Cleanup™ activities improve the quality of life in each participating community.
Keep Pilot Point Beautiful, as an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful, brings the GAC to Pilot Point through events and programs. At the end of the GAC we report our improvements and volunteer hours to Keep Texas Beautiful.
Activities may include:
The rivers and lakes of our great state provide recreation, drinking water, agricultural irrigation and beauty. Unfortunately, many Texas waterways are polluted.
Everything from cigarette butts to plastic bags and old tires contributes to substandard water quality and affects the beauty and appeal of our waterways.
The Texas Waterway Cleanup Program is an effort between Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
