Pilot Point is located minutes from the county seat of Denton, home to the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University. Also located nearby are several of the nation's top colleges and universities, as well as a wide variety of hospitals and medical facilities.

Horse Country

Pilot Point is perfectly located in an outcrop of rich sandy loam soil, providing perfect conditions for training and working horses. Our area of Texas is home to over 25,000 horses and 300 ranches, serving a extremely diverse mixture of breeds and horse disciplines, from Quarter Horses to Equestrians. 

Only one county in Kentucky has more horses that Denton County. The Pilot Point / Whitesboro area of North Central Texas serves as the northern starting point for the North Texas Horse Country Tour that reaches southward to Ft Worth.

Recreation

Countless recreational activities are available at 30,000-acre Lake Ray Roberts, offering a variety of outdoor activities for fishing, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, and overnight stays at beautiful Lone Star Lodge & Marina. Entry points to the lake for water activities include Isle du Bois, Johnson Branch and Jordan Park. The state park also boasts a 20-mile Greenbelt trail system for hiking, biking and equestrian that runs from FM455 south to US-380.

Pilot Point Schools are among the best in the area, with the School District being TEA Recognized. The district's athletic teams are among the best, too: The Pilot Point Bearcats Softball Team won the 2013 Class 2A Division State Championship and the Pilot Point Bearcats Football Team won the 2009 Class 2A Division I State Championship.
